Ethereal and idealized, she is wearing the sea’s pearly treasure over her rose-shaped breasts. At the same time, she seems to be relinquishing the reality implied by the low-rise houses on the left in favor of the world of journey and adventure promised by the ship in the open sea. A journey that, in the artist’s view, is not only geographical but also and more importantly spiritual and existential.
