Andreas Embiricos, the forerunner of surrealist poetry and psychoanalysis in Greece, was also a keen photographer. The exhibition presents a selection of approximately seventy black and white photographs, a small sample of a collection that numbers thousands of photos capturing mainly everyday scenes, portraits, landscapes and compositions.
Additionally, the exhibition brings into light the fond, yet not very well known, friendship between Embiricos and Gounaropoulos, through paintings, drawings, poems and archival material.
Opening: Wednesday 4 November 2015 at 19:00
Parallel events include talks, film and a guided tour (in Greek). To see the program in Greek, click here.
